Vol. 381 No. 2

Written Answers. - Disabled Drivers Assistance Scheme.

48.

asked the Minister for Health the effect on his Department's Estimates, 1988 of the Government decision not to transfer the disabled drivers assistance schemes from the Revenue Commissioners to his Department as originally announced in the Budget speech by the Minister for Finance and in the Minister's speech on the Finance Bill, 1988.

As the Deputy will be aware, the allocations to the health boards for 1988 were notified in October last, in advance of the budget. It was intended to further adjust the allocations in respect of this scheme when the details had been finalised. As the transfer of the scheme from the Revenue Commissioners will not now take place, the allocations to the health board as notified do not require further adjustment in this regard.
