Vol. 381 No. 8

Written Answers. - House Grant Application.

30.

asked the Minister for the Environment if, with reference to the refusal of a new house grant to a person (details supplied) in County Waterford on the basis that he had previously purchased a dwelling in Britain, he will indicate if he has details of the dwelling; and if he has satisfied himself that a correct decision was made in this case.

The applicant indicated that he had previously purchased a house and, in accordance with the conditions of the scheme, he was regarded as not eligible for a new house grant. He was so advised in November 1986. In the light of further information recently to hand, the application is being re-examined and additional information has been sought from the applicant with a view to establishing whether or not a grant may be allowed to him.
