Vol. 382 No. 1

Written Answers. - Dublin School Fire.

185.

asked the Minister for Education if her attention has been drawn to the recent fire at St. Paul's Christian Brothers North Brunswick School, Dublin 7; in view of the fact that the school caters for over 100 pupils in the secondary and a similar amount in the primary school and that the school had been trying to obtain additional accommodation to replace outdated buildings since 1980 from her Department, if she will, in the light of changed circumstances, make efforts to give a serious commitment to this school.

I understand that the national school section of St. Paul's Christian Brothers North Brunswick Street, Dublin 7, was not affected by the recent fire. No application has been received from the national school authorities for additional accommodation. With regard to the secondary school I would refer the Deputy to my reply to Question No. 184 of 10 May 1988.
