Vol. 383 No. 3

Written Answers. - National Lottery Funds Allocation.

44.

asked the Minister for Finance the total amount of moneys allocated to date to projects in south-west County Cork out of the proceeds of the national lottery; if he will give details of same; and if he will give the proportion of such moneys expressed as a percentage of total allocations.

The only allocation of national lottery funds to projects within my area of responsibility is £1.8 million which has been allocated to the Office of Public Works. None of this is in respect of projects located in County Cork.

The selection of individual projects within the broad programme allocations decided by Government is the responsibility of the Ministers concerned. Detailed questions about the projects on which lottery funds are to be spent should be addressed to the Ministers concerned. Apart from the allocation to the Office of Public Works, allocations of lottery funds have also been made to the Departments of Education, Environment, the Taoiseach, Health, Social Welfare, the Gaeltacht and Foreign Affairs.
