Vol. 384 No. 3

Written Answers. - Air Traffic Control.

19.

asked the Minister for Tourism and Transport the number of persons employed as air traffic controllers in each of the past five years; if he has satisfied himself that the present numbers are adequate to ensure the highest possible standards of safety especially, in view of the major increase in air traffic; and if he will make a statement on the matter.

Details of the numbers employed as air traffic control personnel are set out in a tabular statement which I propose to circulate in the Official Report.

I am satisfied that the current staff levels in the air traffic services of my Department are adequate to deal safely with aeronautical operations in Irish-controlled airspace.
