My Department has agreed in principle to grant-aid an extension to Laghey national school, County Donegal. Because, however, of the pressure on the capital available to my Department for its national schools building programme, I am not in a position to say at this time when planning of the project may proceed. The urgency of grant-aiding the school for the provision of essential classroom accommodation will be kept under consideration in my Department.
