Vol. 384 No. 9

Written Answers. - County Dublin Local Government System.

16.

asked the Minister for the Environment if he has any plans for the reform of local government in County Dublin; and if he will make a statement on the operation of the present system.

The question of changes in the local government system in County Dublin, taking account of the special needs of the Dublin region, is a matter which falls to be considered in the context of a comprehensive programme for the overall reform of local government including local authority structures, functions, powers, finance and legislative reform. Work on this programme is at an advanced stage.
