Vol. 384 No. 9

Written Answers. - Bandon, Cork, Flood Relief.

102.

asked the Minister for the Environment whether a flood relief scheme for Bandon, County Cork was lodged with his Department for approval by Cork County Council; if so, when; the proposals in this plan; the estimated cost; and when the plan can be implemented.

Proposals for flood relief works for Bandon were submitted to my Department in August 1988. The works, which are proposed to be carried out by direct labour, include the installation of flap valves and the diversion of surface water and other works estimated to cost £60,000. I expect to make a decision on these proposals shortly.
