Vol. 385 No. 2

Written Answers. - Water and Sewerage Schemes.

166.

asked the Minister for the Environment the amount of the grant for the Barryroe group water scheme, County Cork which is outstanding and unpaid; and if he will arrange for payment.

A final grant instalment of £6,500 will be paid to this group shortly.

167.

asked the Minister for the Environment whether he will sanction the Timoleague-Courtmacsherry-Butlerstown extension of the Clonakilty regional water scheme, County Cork in light of the fact that Cork County Council has issued notification that the existing water supply is unfit for human consumption.

I would refer the Deputy to my reply to Question No. 192 of 17 November 1987. The position remains as set out in that reply.

168.

asked the Minister for the Environment if a submission has been received from Waterford County Council seeking funds for Bawnfune sewerage scheme; if it has been approved; and when funds will be made available for same.

Preliminary proposals for the Bawnfune sewerage scheme have recently been received in my Department and are under examination. I am not in a position to indicate when a decision will issue. As the proposal is at preliminary report stage, the question of providing funds does not arise at this stage.
