asked the Minister for Finance the cost in a full year if the tax free allowance for each dependent child was restored to the tax code at a rate of (a) £100 per child (b) £150 per child and (c) £200 per child and if the allowance was allowed at the marginal rate in each case; and if he will give similar figures if the tax free allowance was only allowed at the standard rate.

The full year costs, estimated by reference to the position for the current income tax year, of restoring the child tax allowance at the levels referred to in the question are estimated as follows:
