asked the Minister for Finance the total amount of VAT collected on tubular gates sold by roadside traders during 1986 and 1987.

asked the Minister for Finance the total amount of VAT collected on electrical goods sold by roadside traders in 1986 and 1987.

I propose to answer Questions Nos. 154 and 155 together.

VAT returns are not completed in a manner which would enable the information requested by the Deputy to be supplied nor are data available from other sources on which reliable estimates can be based.

156.

asked the Minister for Finance when a person (details supplied) in County Cork will receive payment of a refund of VAT amounting to £1,020 which is due to him for the past four months.

I have been advised by the Revenue Commissioners that payment of the amount due to the person concerned was made on 12 December.
