Vol. 385 No. 6

Written Answers. - National Lottery Fund Application.

203.

asked the Minister for the Environment if an application has been received for national lottery funds from Longwood Community Council, Longwood, County Meath for restoration of Ribbontale Bridge, the slip-way and Canal Housing at Dock Bridge; if this application will be considered in early 1989; if he will give special attention to this project; and if he will make a statement on the matter.

208.

asked the Minister for the Environment if his attention has been drawn to the excellent community work being done by the Women's Development Group in Quarryvale, Clondalkin, Dublin 22; if his attention has further been drawn to the fact that they have to vacate the schoolroom they use in the local school and are awaiting allocation of premises by Dublin Corporation; and that such premises will need some adjusting and furnishing; that an application for a national lottery grant has been made; whether a national lottery grant will be payable in the near future; and if he will make a statement on the matter.

221.

asked the Minister for the Environment if he will allocate funds from the national lottery proceeds under the amenity and welfare scheme to Respond Voluntary Housing Agency, Lukehouse, Alexander Street, Waterford, to convert part of their property into a day-care centre for the elderly.

I propose to take Questions Nos. 203, 208 and 221 together.

I have not received applications for grants under the amenity grants scheme, financed by the national lottery in respect of any of these projects.

204.

asked the Minister for the Environment if he has received an application from Kells and District Community Council, Kells, County Meath for national lottery funds; if so, the consideration which this application has been given; if there is a possibility of finance being available in early 1989 for this project; and if he will make a statement on the matter.

I have received an application for a grant under the amenity grants scheme in respect of this project and have informed the applicant that, because of the exceptional level of demand for grants and the comparatively limited amount available to finance the scheme, I have not been able to allocate a grant. I cannot say at this stage whether national lottery funds will be available for the amenity grants scheme in 1989.
