asked the Minister for Education whether payments to students in Rathmines, Dublin 6 under the European Social Fund have been reduced in order to pay a subvention to the students union; and, if so, the grounds on which such a reduction has been made.

There has been no reduction in payments to students on ESF-aided courses in the College of Commerce, Rathmines.

Under the terms of the relevant training programme trainees are now required to pay tuition fees and are paid training allowances of £14.16 per week and £35.36 per week as appropriate related to location of residence. Fees chargeable by the college other than tuition fees are required to be paid by the trainees.
