asked the Minister for the Marine if licences were issued in 1987-1988 for the import of live salmon parr/smolts for fish farming purposes; and, if so, (1) the country of origin, (2) the quantity imported, (3) the destination in Ireland and (4) the name of the import licence holders.

Licences were issued in 1987 for the importation of live salmon smolts. There were no importations in 1988.
