Vol. 386 No. 2

Written Answers. - French Revolution Bicentenary.

23.

asked the Minister for Foreign Affairs the steps, if any, the Government propose to take to celebrate the Bicentenary of the French Revolution; and if he will make a statement on the matter.

Active consideration is being given to the development of a programme of official events to mark the Bicentenary of the French Revolution and the declaration of the rights of man and of the citizen. In this regard, and in order to ensure that an appropriate range of advice is available to the Government, I am establishing a small committee to advise on the finalisation of this programme. I will be making a further statement on the matter as soon as possible.
