Bord Lúthchleas Gael na mBunscoileanna is one of seven component bodies of Cumann Lúthchleas Gael which receives an annual grant from my Department payable through that association. In 1988 the annual grant to Cumann Lúthchleas Gael for its component bodies, including Bord Lúthchleas Gael na mBunscoileanna, in respect of coaching, administration, equipment and special projects designed to increase participation and improve standards was £80,000. Bord Lúthchleas Gael na mBunscoileanna will receive a portion of this grant when the decision regarding its distribution has been made by Cumann Lúthchleas Gael.
In addition, I provided a further grant of £120,000 to Cumann Lúthchleas Gael in respect of the promotion and development of hurling. £20,000 of this grant is to be allocated to Bord Lúthchleas Gael na mBunscoileanna, £10,000 of which is to reduce the cost of hurleys for primary school children and £10,000 in respect of the association's normal activities.
