Vol. 386 No. 7

Written Answers. - County Kilkenny Proposed Tiphead.

101.

asked the Minister for the Environment, in relation to the proposed Dunmore tiphead, County Kilkenny, if the siting of such a development is likely to have significant environmental impact as (a) it is located not more than 450 metres from the River Nore which is a designated salmonid river under the EC Fisheries Directive (b) it is on top of a zone 1 aquifer and (c) the River Nore is used extensively for bathing and amenity purposes by the general public, and whether such attributes are consistent are consistent with a sensitive environment.

It is a matter for Kilkenny County Council to assess the likely environmental impact of the proposed tiphead at Dunmore.
