Vol. 386 No. 7

Written Answers. - Community Schools.

131.

asked the Minister for Education if it is the case that the trustees of the community schools have the ownership of these schools vested in these on the basis of a lease at a fee of one penny a year; and whether this is reasonable rent.

The position with regard to community schools is that the Minister for Education, being the owner of the fee simple interest, grants to the trustees a leasehold interest for which there is payment of one penny, if demanded.

The interests of the trustees are limited to educational purposes and to other terms specified in the lease.
