asked the Minister for Education the number of physical education inspectors who have responsibility for (i) the development of physical education programmes in primary schools and (ii) the supervision of physical education in secondary schools; and the number of secondary schools in the country with full-time physical education teachers.

At primary level, there are 75 inspectors who have responsibility for inspecting physical education in schools as part of general inspection and six inspectors who have responsibility for conducting PE courses and for the development of PE programmes in schools.

At secondary level there are four inspectors who have responsibility for monitoring and promoting physical education in schools.

The information sought by the Deputy in the last part of his question is not readily available from my Department's records.
