Vol. 387 No. 3

Written Answers. - Cattle Headage Grants.

41.

asked the Minister for Agriculture and Food if he will arrange for early inspection of suckling herds for cattle headage purposes as an aid to and an incentive for those involved in suckling.

I presume the Deputy is referring to the need for early inspections of herds in which the applicants have both dairy cows and beef cows. My Department will be making every effort in 1989 to have inspections of such herds arranged early enough to verify that cows are in fact suckling beef calves.
