Vol. 387 No. 5

Written Answers. - School Transport.

92.

asked the Minister for Education when school transport facilities will be provided in the case of persons (details supplied) in County Kerry having regard to the remoteness of their home in relation to the school and also having regard to the fact that they reside in the closed Gortnabinna school area from which district free transport was guaranteed by her Department on closure of that school; and if she will make a statement on the matter.

A service currently operates the Gortnabinna closed school area to Tulloha national school on which the child in question could be facilitated.

My Department could not justify the additional expenditure which would be involved in extending this service nearer the child's home.
