Vol. 387 No. 8

Safety, Health and Welfare at Work Bill, 1988: Report and Final Stages.

I move amendment No. 1:

In page 18, line 28, to delete "sub-sections (1) to (8)" and substitute "sub-sections (1) to (9)".

Amendment agreed to.
Bill received for final consideration.
Agreed to take remaining Stage today.
Question proposed: "That the Bill do now pass."

I thank the party spokespersons, Deputies Sherlock, O'Sullivan, Wyse and Jim Mitchell for their long contributions and for their constructive comments over the two days. I hope that as soon as the Bill passes through the Seanad we can proceed to set up the Authority and at long last bring all workers in this country within safety and health legislation. I am extremely grateful to the Deputies for their co-operation and their constructive comments.

Question put and agreed to.
