Car parking in the grounds of the Custom House is already restricted.
A proposal from the Department of the Environment which would involve additional landscaping of the grounds and further restriction of car parking is being considered.
While I agree there is merit in the Deputy's suggestion I am doubtful whether restrictions of a scale which would significantly improve the visual aspect of the building and its environs are a realistic proposition at this time.
