The provision in the Estimates for in-service training for post-primary teachers for 1989 is £698,000.
The provision for in-service training for primary teachers in 1989 is £143,000.00. This figure excludes the salaries and expenses of members of my Department's inspectorate who are involved in the organising and running of such courses, and the cost of financing the network of teacher centres which caters for both primary and post-primary teachers. One of the functions of a teacher's centre is to organise courses on various aspects of curriculum development.
