Vol. 387 No. 10

Written Answers. - State Bodies Annual Reports.

50.

asked the Minister for Foreign Affairs, in respect of each semi-State or other body submitting an annual report to his Department, the dates on which their 1987 annual report and accounts were (a) received by him, (b) laid before the Houses of the Oireachtas, and (c) circulated to Members.

The position in regard to bodies which submitted their 1987 annual reports and accounts to my Department is as follows:

Body

Date Annual Report and Accounts Received

Agency for Personal Service Overseas

11 July 1988*

Gorta

23 July 1988

Refugee Resettlement Committee

22 July 1988

Policy Advisory Committee (Refugees)

22 July 1988

Scholarship Exchange Board

2 June 1988 and laid before the Houses of the Oireachtas on 24 June 1988

*Accounts not included in annual report.

Apart from the Scholarship Exchange Board none of the other bodies are statutory bodies and there is no requirement on them to either lay their annual reports and accounts before the Houses of the Oireachtas or to have them circulated to Members. The Agency for Personal Service Overseas (APSO) has, however, circulated Members with its 1987 annual report and accounts of 5 December 1988.
