A draft of Ireland's regional development plan was sent to the EC Commission on 15 February 1989. This draft was the subject of a meeting in Brussels on 22 February 1989 between Irish and Commission officials.
These discussions were part of the process of consultation between the Government and the EC Commission which has been maintained throughout the preparation of Ireland's regional development plan. This process which enables the Government to ascertain and take account of the views of the Commission has been most valuable to the Government in their work on the plan.
