Vol. 387 No. 10

Written Answers. - Revenue Commissioners' Offices.

95.

asked the Minister for Finance if it is his policy to concentrate the Office of the Revenue Commissioners on the south side of Dublin; if his attention has been drawn to the transfer of offices to Earl Court, Ballsbridge, Dublin 4 when there is available office space in Parnell Square, Dublin 1 in the city centre; and if he will make a statement on the matter.

There is no policy to concentrate the Office of the Revenue Commissioners on the south side of Dublin. Where a need for accommodation arises, all suitable office space available within the State's existing stock or on the market is objectively considered, irrespective of where it is situated. There is no bias in favour of any particular area.

I am aware that a number of Revenue staff from Teach Earlsfort have been transferred to Earl Court, Earlsfort Terrace, Dublin 2. Earl Court forms part of the State's existing stock of office accommodation, whereas the space in Parnell House, Parnell Square would involve a new lease.
