Vol. 388 No. 3

Written Answers. - Dublin Hospital Extension.

125.

asked the Minister for Health the reason the new out-patient wing at St. James's Hospital, Dublin 8, will not open until October 1989; if he will bring forward the opening date in view of the totally inadequate conditions at the genital/urinary medicine clinic; and if the new out-patient wing will have sufficient resources and staff to reduce the waiting time for patients.

I have already stated in the House that I accept that current out-patient facilities in St. James's Hospital are inadequate. The many categories of patient attending St. James's will in the near future be able to avail of the excellent up-to-date facilities in the new out-patients department. Every effort is being made by the hospital authorities to bring these new facilities into operation at the earliest possible date.
