asked the Minister for Education the present position regarding the provision of post-primary educational facilities in the Ballyshannon/Bundoran areas of County Donegal.

The proposed community school at Ballyshannon will cater for 800 pupils and will replace the three existing second-level schools (Vocational School, De La Salle and Sacred Heart Secondary Schools).

A site report has been completed by the consultant architect appointed for the project and is currently under consideration in my Department.

The arrangements to be made for the future provision of pupils in the Bundoran area have yet to be determined.

asked the Minister for the Education the plans, if any, she has to up-date and modernise primary educational facilities in the Killybegs area of County Donegal.

The following is the situation regarding the national schools in the Killybegs area.

Niall Mór, Killybegs

It is proposed to provide an extension to Niall Mór national school containing five classrooms and a remedial room. Some ancillary accommodation will be provided in the existing building. Sketch plans were recently sent to the chairman of the board of management of the school to enable him to apply for planning permission.

Commons national school, Killybegs

The question of an extension of this school is being considered in the context of the 1989 capital allocation for primary schools' building. A decision will be conveyed to the school authorities as early as possible.
