Vol. 388 No. 5

Written Answers. - Social Welfare Benefits.

119.

asked the Minister for Social Welfare the reason for the delay in granting disability benefit to a person (details supplied) in County Laois.

The person concerned was in receipt of disability benefit from 15 February to 26 May 1988 when entitlement ceased because he was found capable of work by a medical referee. The disallowance was applied and at a further medical examination by a different referee the person was again considered capable of work. An oral hearing by an appeals officer upheld the original decision and the person concerned has been informed.
