Vol. 389 No. 7

Written Answers. - Housing Regulations.

151.

asked the Minister for the Environment if he will outline the legislation, sections of legislation and regulations concerning planning, construction and maintenance of local authority housing and private housing which has been passed by the Houses of the Oireachtas but not brought into force; and if he will make a statement on the matter.

The only such legislation not yet brought into operation is section 8 of the Housing Act, 1988, relating to the carrying out by housing authorities of estimates of housing requirements. Consideration is being given by my Department to all aspects of the manner in which the first estimate of housing requirements should be carried out under section 8 and the section will be brought into operation as soon as possible.
