Vol. 389 No. 7

Written Answers. - Grant Payments.

89.

asked the Minister for Agriculture and Food whether a person (details supplied) in County Cork has been approved for a headage grant payment; if so, when payment will issue; and the reason for the delay in this case.

The person named will be paid his 1989 cattle and equines headage, calf premium and special beef premium schemes grants shortly. Payment has been delayed somewhat by a problem involving staff which has been resolved to the point where payment can be made.

90.

asked the Minister for Agriculture and Food when a person (details supplied) in County Clare will receive payment of a farm modernisation grant.

This grant will be paid inside the next few weeks.

91.

asked the Minister for Agriculture and Food when a person (details supplied) in County Clare will receive a full cattle headage payment.

The person named has already been paid in full under the 1988 cattle and equine headage scheme. Because of his high stocking rate, his claim for livestock headage grants exceeded the allowable limit of £30.66 per acre of the forage area devoted to grazing beef cows and £18.21 per acre of the forage area devoted to grazing other cattle. The person named was paid the full £660.88 due to him following the application of these limits in his case.
