Vol. 390 No. 1

Written Answers. - Southern Health Board Accounts.

119.

asked the Minister for Health the reason for his failure to cause copies of the accounts of the Southern Health Board for 1987 and 1988 to be laid before the Houses of the Oireachtas as required by section 29 of the Health Act, 1970.

I am informed by the inspector of audits that the audit of the 1987 accounts of the Southern Health Board has been completed. Copies of the abstracts of accounts are currently being printed and are expected to be available shortly. These accounts will be presented to the Oireachtas as soon as they come to hand.

I am informed by the health board that draft accounts for 1988 have now been completed and are available for audit. The inspector of audits assures me that the audit of these accounts will be undertaken as soon as possible.

A presentation of these accounts will be made as soon as certified copies are available.
