Vol. 390 No. 6

Written Answers. - Kildare Associations' Funding.

37.

asked the Minister for Health whether he has received an application for grant aid from the proceeds of the national lottery from the Kildare Association for Spina Bifida; whether he will give favourable consideration to this application having regard to the valuable voluntary work undertaken by the organisation; and if he will make a statement on the matter.

I cannot trace receipt of an application for lottery funds from the Kildare association for Spina Bifida. However I have allocated £30,000 from the health allocation of the national lottery proceeds to the national branch of the Irish Association for Spina Bifida and Hydrocephalus.

asked the Minister for Health if he has received an application from the Athy Branch of the Irish Wheelchair Association, County Kildare for grant aid from the proceeds of the national lottery, for the extension and development of their facilities in Kildare; if he accepts the merit of the application, having regard to the major voluntary work undertaken by the organisation; whether he will favourably respond to this application; and if he will make a statement on the matter.

I cannot trace receipt of an application for lottery funds from the Athy branch of the Irish Wheelchair Association. However I have to date allocated a total of £225,000 to the national branch of the Irish Wheelchair Association.
