Vol. 391 No. 5

Ceisteanna—Questions. Written Answers. - School Secretarial Post.

59.

asked the Minister for Education if approval will be given for the urgently needed secretarial post for St. Mark's junior school, Springfield Estate, Tallaght, Dublin 24; if she is aware that the former secretary resigned in September 1988 and as the holder of the post in the senior school is on a career break, that this 2,000 pupil school is without secretarial back-up; if approval will be given as a matter of urgency; and if she will make a statement on the matter.

As the scheme for the employment of secretarial staff in national and secondary schools is being phased out since 1982 it is not open to me to approve the appointment of a secretary in this school.
