Vol. 391 No. 5

Ceisteanna—Questions. Written Answers. - Shercock (Cavan) National School Project.

76.

asked the Minister for Education the present position in relation to Shercock national school, Shercock, County Cavan; if her attention has been drawn to the grave unrest of parents due to the proposed cutback in the original plan; and if she will make a statement on the matter.

I have approved the provision of a new national school on a modified basis at Shercock, County Cavan. In accordance with the policy which has evolved since 1987 the project will proceed on the basis of the provision of classroom accommodation and other essential facilities.

The programme of providing essential classroom accommodation only has been very successful and has allowed the advancement of many more building projects than would normally be the case.
