Personnel records in my Department are not maintained in such a way as to identify the number of staff engaged mainly on constituency inquiries over the years.
I would, however, refer the Deputy to the replies to Question No. 42 on 10 May, 1989 and Question No. 94 on 14 October, 1987 which included, inter alia, details of the staff employed in the constituency or general office of the Minister for Justice on those dates. At present the number of staff in my Department whose principal duties relate to constituency inquiries is six.
