Vol. 392 No. 3

Written Answers. - Farm Prices.

38.

asked the Minister for Agriculture and Food the Government's position regarding the introduction of differential prices for farm products as a system of income supplementation; and if he will make a statement on the matter.

EC institutional prices for farm products are fixed in the context of the annual EC price decisions. These prices apply throughout the Community and are not differentiated on the basis of farm income. Farm income differences are, however, widely taken into account in the framing and application of Community structural measures for agriculture which provide a more appropriate framework for such differentiation.
