Primary responsibility for the provision of public lighting rests with the local authorities. No proposals have been received in the Department from Kilkenny County Council in relation to additional public lighting in Castlecomer. Grants may be provided in respect of the capital cost of traffic route lighting on national roads, where this is warranted.
