The Garda authorities inform me that the present arrangement whereby the policing needs of the Portmarnock area are met from Malahide station is kept under constant review.

asked the Minister for Justice if he will make available additional manpower to Swords Garda station, County Dublin.
The detailed allocation of Garda manpower to individual stations is a matter for the Garda authorities who inform me that two additional gardaí were assigned to Swords station on 17 November and that the current strength there is considered adequate to meet present policing needs.

asked the Minister for Justice if he will give the necessary resources to Blanchardstown Garda station, Dublin 15, to enable it to provide community policing service for the Tyrellstown-Wellview area of Mulhuddart, County Dublin.
The community policing scheme is currently in operation in the Corduff and Blakestown/Fortlawn areas of the Blanchardstown Garda sub-district. The question of extending it to other areas of the sub-district is being considered in the context of a general extension of community policing in the Dublin Metropolitan Area.

asked the Minister for Justice whether there are any plans for the closure of Garda stations in County Kildare; if any suggestions in this regard have been referred to him recently; if he has rejected any such suggestions; if any specific mention has been made regarding particular stations in the county; if he will ensure the continued operation of all present Garda stations in County Kildare and the early opening of the station promised for Leixlip; and if he will make a statement on the matter.
I can assure the Deputy that there are no proposals to close any Garda station in County Kildare. Every effort is being made to provide the substation for Leixlip as soon as possible.
