Vol. 394 No. 4

Written Answers. - Replacement of Ambulances.

231.

asked the Minister for Health the moneys he proposes to allocate to the Western Health Board in 1990 to replace obsolete ambulances, some of which are 12 years old and have covered in excess of 200,000 miles; and if he will make a statement on the matter.

The purchase and replacement of ambulance vehicles is a matter for each Health Board in the first instance.

I have informed the Health Boards of their allocations for 1990 just last week. It will be a matter for the Western Health Board to decide the appropriate level of expenditure on its ambulance fleet within the context of its total allocation for 1990.
