Vol. 394 No. 6

Written Answers. - School Buildings Usage.

144.

asked the Minister for Education if she has laid down any terms or conditions for the use of grant-aided school buildings for other community purposes.

In the case of community schools the deed of trust provides, inter alia, that the schools shall contribute towards the spiritual, moral, mental and physical wellbeing and development of the community.

In the case of other schools the utilisation of school premises for the purpose in question is a matter primarily for the school authorities concerned. So far no mandatory conditions of the usage of school buildings for other community purposes have been imposed by me.
