Vol. 394 No. 6

Written Answers. - School Reports.

145.

asked the Minister for Education if any Irish schools publish an annual report which is available to students and parents; the usual content of such reports; and if she favours this practice.

There is no requirement in the regulations under which the schools operate to publish or to submit a report to my Department. Accordingly, I have no information on the extent to which individual schools may publish reports.

While I am in favour of schools' authorities taking initiatives which improve communication with parents and pupils, I consider that the individual schools are in the best position to determine how this should be done.
