Vol. 394 No. 6

Written Answers. - Ballymun (Dublin) Lifts.

60.

asked the Minister for the Environment if he will make a special allocation to Dublin Corporation for the replacement of the 70 lifts in Ballymun, Dublin 11, which are more than 20 years old and which have reached the end of their useful life; and if he will make a statement on the matter.

There are no funds available to me for the making of a special allocation for this purpose. The corporation's request for funding under my Department's remedial work scheme includes the provision of new lifts as part of the refurbishment of individual flat blocks. I hope to give a decision shortly on their proposals for phase 1 of this work.
