Vol. 394 No. 8

Written Answers. - Income Tax Liabilities.

John V. Farrelly

Question:

120 Mr. Farrelly asked the Minister for Finance if he has any plans to request the Revenue Commissioners to abolish the procedure of assessing and charging income tax liabilities to urban district councils throughout the country; the number of councils who are liable to pay tax under this system; whether this is correct in view of the shortage of funds available to these councils; and if he will make a statement on the matter.

The matter raised by the Deputy is currently under review.
