Vol. 395 No. 3

Written Answers. - Unemployment Statistics.

Jim Higgins

Question:

59 Mr. J. Higgins asked the Taoiseach if he will give a detailed break-down of the unemployed for the month of January, 1990 on the basis of their professions, trades and former occupations.

On 26 January 1990 there were 234,467 persons (162,191 males and 72,276 females) on the live register. No breakdown is available according to former occupation.

Following a general review of the set of live register analyses, the quarterly occupational analysis was discontinued from the end of 1988.
