Question:

100 Mr. McGrath asked the Minister for Finance when it is proposed to take action on the tender submitted in 1987 for the expansion of administrative activities at his Department's offices in Athlone, County Westmeath; and if he will comment on the speculation that these plans have been abandoned.

Revised tenders for the project were received by the Commissioners of Public Works on 24 November 1989. The commissioners are assessing the proposals received and it is hoped that they will be able to place a contract soon.
