Vol. 395 No. 8

Written Answers. - School Building Projects.

Michael Noonan

Question:

86 Mr. Noonan (Limerick East) asked the Minister for Education if a school building project (details supplied) in County Limerick has been put to tender; if the tenders have been examined; when she will appoint a contractor; when building work will commence; the expected date of completion; and if she will make a statement on the matter.

Tenders have been received and examined for the provision of a permanent extension at the national school referred to by the Deputy. The question of the case proceeding to contract is being considered at present and a decision will be conveyed to the school authorities at the earliest possible date.

I am not in a position to say precisely, at this point, when building works will commence. The specified contract period is three months.
