Vol. 395 No. 9

Written Answers. - Grant Payments.

John Ellis

Question:

133 Mr. Ellis asked the Minister for Agriculture and Food if a farm modernisation grant will be paid to a person (details supplied) in County Leitrim.

The application is being processed and payment will issue as soon as possible.

Frank Crowley

Question:

134 Mr. Crowley asked the Minister for Agriculture and Food when a calf and beef premium payment will issue to a person (details supplied) in County Cork.

My Department is unable to trace any application from the person named under the 1989 EC special beef premium scheme.

His cattle file is with field staff at present in connection with the inspection of his herd. If his application under the 1989 calf premium scheme is found to be in order following inspection he will be paid any outstanding grants due to him in due course.

John Bruton

Question:

135 Mr. J. Bruton asked the Minister for Agriculture and Food when a grant for a slatted shed which was approved in December, 1989 will be paid to a person (details supplied) in County Meath.

A grant under the farm improvement programme will be paid as soon as possible.

Michael Noonan

Question:

136 Mr. Noonan (Limerick East) asked the Minister for Agriculture and Food when a reply will issue to a letter submitted to him by Deputy Noonan (Limerick East) in connection with an application for grants in the case of persons (details supplied) in County Tipperary; and the reason for the delay in replying to same.

No representations have been made to me on behalf of the applicant in question. However, representations were made to the Department in the case and a reply will issue to these shortly. The delay in replying to same was due mainly to staff resources being devoted to clearing the backlog of grant payments which built up towards the end of last year.
