Question:65 Mr. G. O'Sullivan asked the Minister for Energy if he will outline his research and development proposals in respect of alternative energy sources in 1990; and if he will make a statement on the matter.
Written Answers. - Alternative Energy.
While no grants are given by my Department at present for renewable energy research, research is being carried out extensively by State sector companies and by the private sector under EC programmes. Information for 1990 is available relating only to projected expenditure for Irish projects under the EC energy demonstration programme. The projected expenditure under that scheme is almost £7 million.
